Moretti Beer

This is that beer that they serve in Italian restaurants for those chumps who feel that they will order it to spite their pretentious wine drinking pals. Well you picked the wrong beer to make your beer-over-wine statement and now your friends are laughing at you. Moretti has no smell and no taste for that matter (Heeyoooo). What little taste it has is masked by a strong acid burst of soft drink proportions.

Wacky Fact - The Moretti brewery (founded in 1859 in Udeni Italy) was bought by Heineken in 1996. Heineken then quickly turned around and sold it to another brewery (the Castello beer company). So Moretti is Heineken beer brewed at a Heineken brewery in Italy. The beer equivalent of Chinese businessmen buying the New York Yankees, replacing all the players with Chinese athletes and moving the team to Albany. Then saying “God bless America” at every Yankee game.

With all those Italian designers around why does it look like the label was done by an art student in Canada.

Carlsberg Beer

The Carlsberg label has a cool font and lettering design.

Newcastle Brown Ale

Great balanced ale. Slight Chocolate smell and full flavor.

Wacky Fact - The 5 point star on the Newcastle label represents the 5 original Newcastle breweries. The first commercial breweries in England.

The Newcastle label has an interesting color combo that only works when the bottle is full. When its empty its a reminder of why you should never put blue and orange together.

Lion Stout

Smells strong but has a great full flavor and strong chocolate like taste. leaves good aftertaste.

Wacky Fact – Ceylon Brewery (the producer of Lion Stout) started 1881 to capitalize on all the English soldiers stationed in Sri Lanka when it was a British outpost.

The label has a good color combo. with simple elegant design and cool dynamic shape.

Harbin Lager

This is a popular Chinese beer that does not have much taste but is still refreshing.

Wacky Fact – The Harbin Brewery is China’s oldest brewer, Anheuser-Busch acquired it in 2004.

The Harbin label has a great color swatch and exellent design. it is topped with aluminum foil like a bottle of champaign, so every bottle is like a little celebration. Weehooo!
